Attendance Matters!
Hello C.P.E.C. Families!
We are excited to launch a new incentive program to compliment our virtual/on-line Learning program.
Every student, teacher and staff member will be placed on a virtual team based on the 7 Grandfather teachings. Each child will earn points for their team by participating in online activities daily.
Beaver (Amihk) = Team Wisdom
Wolf (Mahīnkan) = Team Humility
Sabe/Bigfoot (Misapē) = Team Honesty
Bear (Mahkwa) = Team Courage
Buffalo (Miškotē pihšikē) = Team Respect
Eagle (Kinew) = Team Love
Turtle (Mīkanak) = Team Truth
Possible Individual Points Earned:
1 point = attend scheduled zoom meeting with teacher each day.
1 Point = daily homework completed
2 Points = take part in spirit days
3 points = Saulteaux and Phys Ed. challenges
5 points = classroom or school-based project completed (grade and/or classroom specific)
10 points = perfect attendance for the month
At the beginning of each month the Team Tallies go back down to zero. Each month is a new opportunity to gain points for your team.
If you reach a certain level each month you can win a prize for individual participation.
Level 1 – 50+ points = Prize equivalent to $10
Level 2 – 75+ points = Prize equivalent to $15
Level 3 – 100+ points = Prize equivalent to $20
We will keep a tally of points earned each week and post on the website and C.P.E.C. Facebook page every Friday so you can see how each team is doing.
The team that wins every month will win a team reward chosen and organized by school-based team leaders.
Teachers, Staff and Parents are the champions and cheerleaders of our students. We need to do all we can to ensure the participation in virtual programming and encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning. We hope you can help us promote this new and exciting initiative.
