Good morning CPEC Families. The current temperature is under the threshold for cancelling transportation so we are good to go. CPEC vans WILL be picking up students. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately with their toque, jacket, gloves/mittens, boots, and ski pants. It is imperative they are dressed for the weather. Van drivers will refuse entry onto the van if your child is not dressed accordingly. Thank you for your assistance on this matter. Stay warm and have a great day.
Good evening CPEC Families. We have had several inquires already about school tomorrow due to the forecast of an extreme wind chill in the morning. Please note that the decision to close school or keep it open does not happen until the morning of, between 6:45 and 7:00 AM. Currently the forecast is calling for a temp of -33C but feeling like -43C with windchill. We use the following policy to aid in our decision. Please familiarize yourself with it. Also, check back here tomorrow morning around 7:00 AM for any updates.
Extreme Wind Chill:
Good morning CPEC Families. At 6:30am the Highway Hotline showed roads out of Regina were blue and travel was not recommended. At 6:45am the roads were pink and conditions were changed to snow covered. Roads on Pasqua First Nation are not great either. We have decided to remain closed for now and will reevaluate at 10:30am. There is a chance that we will be open for half a day today. We will let you know in three and a half hours. Until then, stay warm and stay safe.
P.S. Cooking with Kokom has been cancelled for the day. Good day CPEC Families. CPEC Elementary and CPEC High School are participating in professional development this week. They are receiving First Aid/CPR/AED training. Because of our large staff size, the trainer cannot accommodate both schools at the same time. This is why training will be held over the course of two days.
CPEC Elementary staff have their training on Thursday, December 5th. There is no school for elementary students on this day. High School students have regular classes on this day. CPEC High School staff have their training on Friday, December 6th. There is no school for elementary students on this day and no school for high school students on this day. Thank you for your support in this endeavour and allowing us the time to undergo this vital instruction. |
