Now that semester one has come to an end and report cards have been sent out, we know what credits have been earned. Some students though have either failed the course or have not completed all the required outcomes of the course. In some special cases, these students will be offered "credit recovery" and be given another opportunity to earn that particular credit. Please note, not all students are offered credit completion. A number of criteria must be met first. We look at the students attendance, their current grade, the number of assignments completed, their effort, their attitude and their willingness to accept credit completion.
Students are given an additional 30 days to complete the assignments in their credit recovery plan. Their homeroom teacher will communicate with them and inform them of the plan's details. Students will have until March 7th to complete their assignments. This allows three days for the home room teacher to correct their work, update the grade, and complete the necessary paper work. It also allows the office to complete the online administrative procedures before the end of the 30 day period. Students who have been offered credit recovery will be contacted, along with their parent(s)/guardian(s). Good day CPEC families! Time flies when you're having fun! Wow! Where did semester one go? Oh well. Onto bigger and better things! Semester two starts on Monday, February 14th. Teachers have sent invites for students to join their Google Classrooms. We will continue with online learning from February 14th to February 18th. Then the following week is the Family Week holiday so there will be no classes that week. Classes resume on Monday, February 28th. We are waiting to hear from C&C if that will be online learning or face-to-face learning. Once we know, we will share that decision with you. Until then, please have your student meet us online at their scheduled times.
If you or your student have any questions, please contact either Vice Principal Jason Desjarlais (306-527-0969) or your student's classroom teacher at the high school (306-332-1571). |
